i have discovered a make known at the join between the header pipe and the end can. could this explain the slight stutter at idle and the loss of power under acceleration? i have a triumph thruxton...
A: nope....unless there is a sensor after the enraged[which could send the wrong info to the ecu]....but to be quite honest it wont cause the systems you discribe.
should not modify the Performance side of it , if the baffles are ok then think about renewing the inlet exhaust part.

it will move it slightly .. as its losing compression .. but depends on the size

if your exhaust is blowing at the multifarious you will be loosing back pressure .
back pressure stops the incoming fuel from going streight into the exhaust .
you will be loosing...
