Triumph t120 not firing one one side?

Have a 1970 triumph T120R with a boyer ignition and a sportster 3.5 ohm flake down (dual fire) and the bike only fires on one side. Not sure if the coil is bad or to small.The plug wires are good...

A: I suggest using the correct lucas coil I have had no troubs with mine but a friend of mine runs old Volkswagen coils on his bsa and it rocks. token to see if the leads off the rm25 to the boyer...


cant be the enwrap but an easy check would be to switch the plug wires and see if the opposite plug fires. If it does get another spiral.And if you want the proper stuff for that bike BRITISH CYCLE...

I bought a '76 T120 once that someone had a Harley dual promote wire tower coil installed. It ran like c**p. Replaced the coil with the stock dual coils, and it ran gigantic after that.

no you will have to modulate the alternator an easy one to instal is the GM one off of any pre 82 GM car/truck it is an easy one wire install but you will have to make a custom braket

british bikes did stumble upon with pos earth .when every thing else was neg .is the boyer system neg or pos earth .you may have to get a diff alt,what about a magneto no baterry or alt.and a lot...
